Problem

Green Line Records (GLR), Northeastern University’s student-driven record label, needed a website that not only established their credibility but also reflected their vibrant community and the creativity of their artists. The challenge was to create an engaging platform where users could explore music, learn about GLR, and feel connected to the label’s mission of accelerating emerging artists’ careers.

Solution

We designed a dynamic, user-focused website for GLR that balances functionality and creativity. By collaborating with musicians and users, I developed innovative ways to visually represent music and artist profiles, incorporating interactive elements to make the site immersive and memorable. The final design captured the essence of GLR’s community while setting them apart as a credible and unique record label.

Key Takeaways

Learning by Doing: As one of my first projects in Figma, designing the GLR website allowed me to explore tools like components, margins, and layouts, sharpening my design skills while bringing the project to life.

Designing for Identity: Crafting the GLR website was an opportunity to showcase the label’s distinct personality and mission through thoughtful branding and design.
